General tips[ | ]

  • The Flammenwerfer is a very unique weapon, alongside with the US and SU counterparts. It must be thought of as one if you want value out of it's use.
  • The TTK (Time to kill) on the flammenwerfer is pretty high, especially for a weapon that is intended solely for CQB. You can expect quite often to die to an SMG up close with the flammenwerfer.
    • It also has an absurdly high equipment cost at 8 points, meaning you can't carry anything besides a medic pouch and a flammenwerfer.
  • Best way to guarantee kills with the flammenwerfer is to flank. This is questionable though, because you are left very exposed when using it and there will be no doubt of your precise location upon firing. There certainly are better weapons for flanking.
  • The Flammenwerfer is among the best weapons in the game for taking on crowds of opponents, especially if you have any kind of cover at all. You can quickly burn down 3-5 players without reloading a single time.
  • When clearing buildings, you can easily pre-fire and get plenty of damage done to an opponent before they have a chance to fire at you.
    • Be careful with this, because you can damage yourself with the flamethrower.
  • You can get kills after dying due to the DOT (damage over time) effect the flammenwerfer applies.
  • The Flammenwerfer is good for clearing out angles that you can't reach with a regular rifle/SMG/LMG. For example, if an enemy is camping at an attics window, you can easily burn him due to the expanding nature of the fire.
  • It's very fun to use.
  • Generally speaking, the flammenwerfer is a niche weapon. You will have a good time with it, but perhaps you will find more value using more meta weapons like the MG34.
  • One should never be still when using this weapon. Your mobility is by far your biggest advantage in any CQB gunfight, as you are much more harder to hit.
  • The Flammenwerfer is one of those weapons that opponents might find especially tempting to pick up from your corpse when you die, largely due to its rarity. To prevent this, equip a Model 1934 on the first equipment slot, and the flammenwerfer on the second. On the third one a medical item is recommended. You can use the combat medic badge for a total of 4 heals.
