History

The Gewehr 43 (or G43) is a semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Walther GmbH from 1943 to 1945, meant to replace the inefficient, jam-prone Gewehr 41. When German soldiers invaded the Soviet Union, they were met with stiff resistance by Soviet soldiers wielding Tokarev SVT38 and SVT40 semi-automatic battle rifles. Walther GmbH, the manufacturer of G41 semi-automatic rifles, reverse-engineered the simple gas-operated mechanism of the Tokarev rifles and incorporated their superior design into the G43. The design and construction materials of the weapon were also streamlined, making mass production faster and cheaper. Production of the Gewehr 43 began in Oct 1943, and in 1944, the design was renamed Karabiner 43 (or K43). Between 1943 and 1945, approximately 403,000 were built; 53,435 of the most accurate selections were configured as sniper rifles, sporting factory-fitted ZF43 4x magnification optics. Immediately following World War II, these scoped K43s remained in service with the Czechoslovakian army for several years.[1]

Gameplay

Gewehr 43 is flexible weapon giving fair chances at any range under 150m (if you're a good shot). It's accurate, deals good damage with a decent rate of fire but lacks in stability, range and it's sights can't be adjusted. It compensates its low fire rate compared to SMGs with higher damage and shoots faster than bolt action rifles. It requires a tactical approach when facing opponents using automatic weapons but it's highly rewarding due to having everything in one piece. Starting weapon of German infantry. It has the lowest rate of fire and longest reload time compared to all the other faction's starter weapons.

Description
You will most likely lose in short range fights, but begin to win in short-medium range to medium range fights.

Comments:

  • In-door use Nimble Badge
  • Out-door use Fast Reload or Camouflage badge
  • If you do not like the S.m.KHart ammo then use the Scout II-s instead. The Scout II-s has lower accuracy and recoil penalties and you get slight increased near range and better far range. ALTHOUGH the Scout II-s will cost you 2x more credits to shoot and about 17x more to purchase than the S.m.K.Hart, but you will unlock the Scout II-s (10th grade) before you can unlock the S.m.K.Hart (11th grade)
  • Alternatively, the Anschusspatrone s.S. can be unlocked earlier (at 5th Grade) than both the Scout II-s and the S.m.K. Hart, while being able to two-hit kill enemies at even longer ranges and having increased accuracy. BUT will cost you about 3x more to shoot than S.m.K.Hart or about 1.5x more than Scout II-s.

Pros:

  • Able to defeat Heavy Set Gold users with 2 torso hits

Cons:

  • Will only defeat Heavy Set users at short range
  • Decreased accuracy, range, and increased recoil
