Description

The design of this excellent light machine gun shares many similarities with the German FG-42. It is designed to replace the heavy M1918 and is well liked by U.S. troops.

History

The M1941 Johnson LMG was designed by a Boston Lawyer and a Captain in the USMC reserves during the late 1930s. During WW2, the Allied Special Forces asked for a LMG that was lighter, more maneuverable, while having the same accuracy and firepower of a BAR. Thus, small quantities of the Johnson LMG were given to Special Forces soldiers operating behind Axis lines. The First Special Service Force also known as the Devil's Brigade received the weapon and it became an overwhelming favorite.

Gameplay

A direct upgrade from the M1918A2 Automatic Rifle or BAR, the M1941 Johnson LMG has slightly better range and damage, with the same reload time to M1918A2 BAR yet with the ability to 4 Hit Kill at all ranges with a user using Heavy Set Gold. Although the M1941 Johnson LMG can't equip a scope like the Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 , an upside to this is that it's available to all U.S Infantry and Paratroopers as a non-captured weapon due to service within the both the U.S. Paramarines and the U.S. First Special Forces.

The M1941 Johnson, although it may be classed as an Light Machine Gun (LMG) within Heroes & Generals. Could actually be used as an Assault Rifle comparable to the Sturmgewehr 44, this also results in the weapon being friendly to use for both beginner and veteran players within Heroes & Generals. Yet users of the weapon will have to get use to the smaller magazine size of 20 rounds, which doesn't allow for hip firing of the weapon in an Close Quarters Environment if facing off against 3 or more players. In addition the sights used by the Johnson M1941 LMG were similar to the FG 42 (Fallschirmjägergewehr 42) as since they both have peep hole sights.

Pros[]

  • Rate Of Fire: Decent standard rate of fire of 577, which can compet against most SMG's, LMG's, and AR's who don't have any Rate of Fire Modifications equipped on their weapons.
  • Single Fire: Ability to go Semi-Automatic for Long Range Encounters for hostile enemies far away.
  • Equipment Point: With the Johnson M1941 LMG only having 6 Equipment Point Slots compared to the Degtyarev DT-29 and Maschinengewehr 34. It gives users more flexability and options compared to other Teir 2 & 3 LMG's.

Between[]

  • Reload Speed: A reload time of 3.5 Seconds, which won't help you in Close Range Combat.
  • Ammunition Pouch: If using Modification Build 2 with an Rof of 677, and also 1 Ammunition Pouch (120 Rounds, 20 Rounds in Magazine). Users will quickly find out the increase rate of having to find an ammunition box to refil on ammunition.
  • Weapon Sights: Although it does have sights similar to the FG-42, users who equip Rate of Fire Modifications will have an difficult time seeing through sights due to increase in recoil and smoke effects.

Cons[]

  • Magazine Size: Although it has a magazine size of 20 Rounds, it may not be enough to eliminate 3 full Infantry Squads within a room.

Description
This makes the M1941 Johnson LMG being able to compete with other LMGs and ARs with the added advantaged of being low maintenance cost after each battle. But comes at a disadvantage for competing against High RoF Weapons, like the PPSh-41, Maschinengewehr 34, Maschinengewehr 42 for CQC.

Pros:

  • Stable and Precise
  • Low Maintenance Cost

Cons:

  • Stock RoF

Pros:

  • Decent RoF to compet with other SMGs, LMGs, and ARs inside buildings
  • Decent Time to Kill

Cons:

  • Slightly worse Maintenance per battle
  • Slight decreased in Stability and Sight Accuracy
