The M-1910 Entrenching Tool (or e-tool) is a collapsible spade used by the US Army throughout World Wars I and II. Entrenching tools could be used to dig holes, trenches, rubble, and graves. It is used to fill sandbags, and can also be used as a simple axe to chop wood. To soldier or civilian alike, an e-tool is an indispensable piece of equipment in a survival situation. Due to World War I's intense close quarters trench combat, frontline soldiers began sharpening the edges of these spades to convert them into compact and effective melee weapons, and the tradition held throughout World War II.
The M-1910 Entrenching Tool is the starter melee weapon for the US Faction. Even though this shovel has a little more range than the 1219C2, you will still need to get up close and personal to the enemy in order to achieve a kill. As with all close combat weapons, range is severely limited. Like all spades, the M-1910 cannot be used to dig trenches.
