History
The M1919 Browning is a belt-fed medium machine gun designed by John Browning, and is chambered in the powerful .30-06 Springfield round. It served as the primary defensive support weapon of the US Army throughout World War II, and its use of the disintegrating M1 link belts made it easy to clean and clear, reducing the chance of jams and making it significantly quicker to clear them when they occurred. Due to the weapon's weight, it was frequently mounted on vehicles and operated by two-man teams.
It was extremely prone to overheating, as the barrel was not as easily interchangeable as other machine guns of its era, and this led to many malfunctions.
The M1919A6 variant added a buttstock, as well as a frontal barrel bearing incorporating a bipod for easier deployment and amuzzle booster. Other changes included the addition of a carrying handle and the fitting of a lighter barrel than the previous M1919A4 variant. A muzzle device also allowed easier replacement of the barrel, no longer requiring field stripping the entire weapon to pull it from the rear. However, replacing the barrel from the front was an awkward procedure compared to other machine guns of the day. This variant was also heavier and therefore more cumbersome than the previous M1919A4, which weighed 31 lb (14 kg) and had two or more crewmen to carry both the gun and the 14 lb (6.4 kg) bipod compared to the single man carrying the 32 lb (14.7 kg) M1919A6.
Gameplay
The M1919A6 is a very strong defensive weapon, combining high rate of fire with good damage, and can mow down large squads of enemies in seconds. Its long length, low hipfire accuracy, inability to fire while jogging. Burst fire is advised at longer ranges. It is better than the M1918 BAR in damage and can fire more rounds between reloads, but reloads slower.
The M1919MG is the last machinegun United States infantry can unlock. It is able to kill an enemy with 3 torso hits, even if they have Heavy Set Gold, without needing any modifications.
The playstyle of more like the M1918A2 Automatic Rifle since you are forced to walk when shooting unlike the Johnson M1941.
It is one of only three machineguns that when adjusting the sights the player can see the iron sights move.
