Description

The standard German light machine gun during the interwar years and into the beginning of the war. The name MG13 deceives the allies into believing it to be from WW1. This is an excellent piece of machinery, it features select-fire and an easy to use bi-pod.

History

The MG13 is a German machine gun firing the 7.92x57 Mauser round, and was introduced in 1930. It was soon replaced by the Maschinengewehr 34, but not before being incorporated into the Panzer I A.

Gameplay

If you have a little to experienced of controlling FG 42, treat it with the same way. Fortunenately, MG 13 has 5+ ammo in the magazine and open ironsight, which gives you an advantage during combat. Player should utilize its open ironsight to engage an enemies during defense or clearing a building as you can track your enemy without being obstructed.

While the recoil is somewhat kicking than FG 42, it still manageable to control it during burst fire. Thanks to selective-fire, deployable bipod and ironsight without aperture, player could engage enemy at long range, although it is not advised since the ironsight is quite thick.

Should you treat MG 13 for mid-long range weapon, you should refrain to use ammunition mod as it will gives the weapon more recoil despite the damage improvement. Also you might want to increase RoF for building clearing purpose by adding trigger and spring modifications, however it will severely reduces long-range capabilities unless you utilize the selective-fire feature. While the damage output still lower than its US counterpart, it still a formidable weapon when using it properly.

Using Tight Grip Badge, while not mandatory, is helpful to engage enemy during ADS, especially at long range with bipod deployed. The Hoarder Badge quite beneficial too, since it can add up 1/2/3 extra clips which helps you to prolong yourself in the battlefield without worrying of being run out of ammo.

Tips

  • Utilize its selective-fire mode, and the bipod for long-range engagement.
  • Refrain to spray-firing too much, as this weapon recoil is quite kicking.
  • Pick your best modification: fast RoF for Clearing building or Long-range Engagement.
  • Don't engage your enemies for too long, especially at their effective range. Above all, never do suppressing fire. MG 13 designed for accurate and pinpoint weapon, not for scaring the enemies off.
