Description

This PTRS is the semi-automatic analog of the Soviet PTRD anti-tank rifle. The much faster firing rate makes it an effective weapon against lightly armoured vehicles but it comes at the cost of internal mechanics wearing down faster.

History

The PTRS-41 was designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov in 1938 and was then put into service in 1941. After having suffered heavy losses of anti-tank equipment meant it was neccesary quickly replace lost weaponry. The PTRS-41 design was later scaled down and became the SKS-45 semi-automatic rifle.

Gameplay

Just as the PTRD-41 and the Panzerbüchse-39 it is not possible to fire it without aiming unlike most of the weapons.

Since the PTRS-41 is quite hard to aim without the support of the bipod which makes the bipod almost mandatory to use. Something to have in mind is to chose your position carefully since you're unable to move when the bipod is deployed which makes you an easy target.

The choice of combat badge is slightly easier than with the PTRD-41, since this weapon has a magazine which makes fast reload less needed even though the reload time is one of the longest in the game. The choice might instead be between Infantry First CB or Iron Fist CB, or perhaps both if possible.
