Description

The M1903 is a sturdy bolt-action rifle, it loads with a 5 round stripper clip and while not super fast-firing, it is precise and hard-hitting.

Gameplay

The Springfield is very accurate, able to effectively engage the enemy at very long ranges. This rifle can be modified to kill in one shot, which makes it an extremely potent weapon on the field. However, due to its slow rate of fire, the Springfield is ill-suited for close quarter combat. It's advised to pair this rifle with a sidearm, be it a pistol, submachine gun, or a semi-automatic rifle.

Unmodified, the M1903 requires two torso shots to kill within 200 meters. As such, ensure your target is not in a position to seek cover when you open fire.

Pros

  • Powerful: The M1903 can be modified to one shot enemies, but even out of the box, it still packs a big punch.
  • Infantryman Sniper: Allows you to be a mid-range supporting sniper and counter-sniper. Stick with your squad and pick off the enemies when they are not looking.
  • Accuracy: Where you aim is where you will hit. The sights are well positioned and optimal for leading moving targets.
  • The only bolt action rifle that can kill Heavy Set Silver users with 2 torso hits without any modifications
  • Fastest rate of fire, reload speed, and highest starter damage of all bolt action rifles
  • Clearest iron sights than all other bolt action rifles

Cons

  • Slow Rate of Fire: Aim for the head, you might not get a second shot.
  • Close Combat: Although no-scoping is an option, to rely on this might be a mistake. A pistol or knife is suggested.
  • Do not use only Bertie Clay Mk (III) h ammunition alone as it does not have enough damage to 2 hit kill Heavy Set Gold users unlike the Karabiner 98 Kurz
  • Produces the loudest sound when fired

Comments:

  • Please Note: You can also use the Scout II barrel, although that will only give you one hit kills against units who aren't wearing the Heavy Set badge and only up to a range of about 275 meters. With the Scout II barrel, you can use this build as an Infantryman, and when combined with the M73B1 scope it makes a great anti-sniper build!
