Description
“ | The StG44 is a fantastic weapon, the range of a rifle, the firepower of an SMG, and damage in between. With enough of these we can conquer the world! 30 round magazine, great handling and stopping power, makes it a joy to use. | ” |

Gameplay
The Sturmgewehr has damage and range like an LMG but with stability close to a Thompson M1A1 or MP40 making it effective for different ranges. It has selective fire that can make it easier at longer ranges to hit targets when having it on single fire. While the M1/M2 Carbine has a higher fire rate, the StG has a superior damage output to make up for it. The base StG excels in medium range combat but can be modified for longer or shorter ranges or augment it's medium range performance. This makes is very versatile, but favors a shorter range unlike semi-automatic rifles like the Gewehr 43. This weapon will more than likely lose against specialized weaponry such as the M1/M2 Carbine and sub-machine guns when in capture points since they are always in-doors and in a fairly small area. It will definitely help get the player to the capture point more than other weapons should the player chooses to not spawn a vehicle or must walk to the capture points.

History[ | ]
The Sturmgewehr 44 (StG 44) was the first successful assault rifles ever created. The StG 44 was being developed in 1942 by Hugo Schmeisser. Hitler wasn't interested however, as the cartridge didn't "have enough power". Thus the first models of the StG 44 got rejected. Together with Heinrich Himmler and Erwin Rommel, Schmeisser made Hitler believe that he was actually developing a new machine gun, the MP 43. Hearing that it was another smg, Hitler got exited and was asked to sign a contract. Without knowing, Hitler had actually signed a contract so that development on the StG 44 could begin.
Many models went into production, the most prominent being the Maschinenkarabiner ("machine carabine") also known as MKb42, the Maschinenpistole ("machine pistol") or MP43 and later MP44. When Hitler later found out that it was a ruse to get these weapons produced, he was actually impressed by them and ordered to make more of them, him naming it the Sturmgewehr.
As an assault rifle it had select fire, a short cartridge (7.92x33 mm Kurz) and decent magazine capacity of 30 rounds. It had an effective range of 300 meters in automatic mode and 600 meters in semi-auto mode. It could fire up to 600 rounds per minute. Soldier could also attach a scope if they chose to do so. They'd have to remove the rear part of the iron-sight and install a rail on it. Experiments were also done with infra-red scopes, although not very successful.
After the war however, the StG 44, and variants, weren't produced anymore and they quickly turned into collector items . About 500 thousand were produced. Later, many nations took ideas of the weapons and producing their own variants. The AK-47 is not a copy, but it took inspiration from it (for example).
Trivia[ | ]
There are 3 Variants of this Weapon produced in Real Life:
- MKb42(H) The Maschinenkarabiner, predecessor of the StG44
- MP43/1
- MP44
The StG44 in Real Life has a Fire Rate of 550-600 rounds per minute. More than the In-Game Counterpart.
